ARVD is a Rare Heart Problem which can make your Heart Beat Too Fast. It can affect people of All Ages and All Activity Levels. A Leading Cause of Sudden Death Among Young Athletes

Which Is Where My Story Begins!!!

I AM CRYSTAL Lorraine

I began having cardiac episodes in my early teenage years. As A Teen & Young Adult, I was very active: Dancing ~ Working ~ Traveling

I didn’t let these episodes slow me down, I was MIS-DIAGNOSED for years.

AT THE AGE OF 31, (when i was pregnant with my 3rd child) I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH ARVD, THIS DIAGNOSES CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER Because Of My Congenital Heart Disease, Pregnancy Could Kill Me; My Unborn Child, or BOTH.

On April 4,2006 I gave birth to a Handsome Baby Boy

IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE DELIVERY I was rushed to the cardiac unit of the hospital, HEARTBROKEN – I was only able to visit my newborn son when there was a pediatric nurse and officer available to transport him from the nursery to the cardiac unit.

On May 8,2006 My 1st IMPLANTED CARDIAC DEFIBRILLATOR placed and 2 years later I received my 2nd (due to complications).

During this time, I slowly lost myself. I lost my confidence and my zest for life. You see as a Licensed Cosmetology Instructor

It has always been my passion to empower women, make women Look & Feel Beautiful, to Build their Self Confidence, and to be their Support System and SUDDENLY, MY WORLD HAD BEEN TURNED UPSIDE DOWN -AND- I WAS THE ONE NEEDING ALL OF THOSE THINGS THAT I DID FOR OTHERS.

BUT I SUFFERED IN SILENCE BECAUSE I WANTED TO APPEAR STRONG and IN CONTROL.

IN CONTROL OF: MY MARRIAGE

IN CONTROL OF: MY FAMILY

IN CONTROL OF: MY CAREER

IN CONTROL OF: MY HEALTH

LIVING WITH HEART DISEASE, I understand: ~ THE FEAR ~ THE ANGER ~ THE DEPRESSION ~ THE ANXIETY, but I knew in order to get through this ~ I Needed Help.

Morbi vitae purus dictum, ultrices tellus in, gravida lectus.

For many years Congenital Heart Disease claimed my wholeness. I suffered with anxiety, I felt helpless causing anger and fear. Coming to the realization that only I could take back control of my health and well-being, I learned to calm and control my mind through meditation and the practice of yoga.

Yoga and Meditation has given me the mental clarity I need in my day-to-day life and has taught me to love and work with my body.

I’ve always been intrigued by the practice of yoga. My Vinyasa Practice provided me the tools needed to still my mind and gain total control of my thoughts and the way that I allow myself to respond to the world around me. This has been an awesome eye-opening experience! You see, before I was just “doing yoga” but now I’m developing a yogic lifestyle. Allowing myself to experience life and heal from my past is a gift that I would like to share with all whom I come in contact with. What better way to share my gift then allowing others to hold space and just be!

Meditation

The One Minute Meditation

How To Meditate In 4 Steps

  1. Sit down comfortably
  2. Set a timer for 5 minutes and close your eyes
  3. Focus on your breath. What does it feel like?   slow fast?    deep or flat?     Notice how your chest and belly are rising and falling with your breath
  4. Keep experiencing every breath fully, without trying to control it. When you notice your thoughts wandering away, gently bring them back to your breath. Do this until your timer goes off.
